Napali Snorkeling & Sailing Boat Tour
The only thing as great as being on Kauai and looking out on the ocean is being out on the ocean and looking back on Kauai! Easy on the eyes is an understatement, especially when the changing afternoon light illuminates the azure ocean waves, filters through steep 4,000’ emerald cliffs, glimmers down cascading waterfalls, and casts shadows on pristine sandy beaches. Come experience the distinct magnificence of Kauai’s Napali Coast for sightseeing, sailing (weather permitting), dinner, and drinks during the golden hours of the afternoon on our Napali Sunset Sail.
The Napali Sunset Sail is appropriate for couples, friends, families, or solo travelers that want to get out in the breeze, be a little pampered and experience what the Pacific Ocean has to offer on whatever particular day. The Napali Sunset Sail can be a glassy-smooth romantic boat ride and it can be a splashy afternoon adventure, but it typically falls somewhere in between. Either way, be prepared to get wet, ride the waves and make memories you can cherish for years to come.
While we can’t control the specific ocean conditions, we can assure you that our 50’ sailing catamaran Leila was Kauai-designed and Kauai-built specifically for comfort and safety in the island’s unique waters. Leila is sleek, with a low center of gravity—a feature that minimizes motion sickness (although motion sickness can strike at any time, so we always recommend you take the necessary precautions to ensure your maximum enjoyment).
Leila is meticulously maintained, and an impressive sailor—able to reach speeds of approximately 15 knots while under full sail. Leila, is the real deal, and sailing enthusiasts will appreciate her modern design and capability. Motoring is necessary for us to reach our destination, but when the winds permit, we love to shut off the motors and enjoy some true trade-wind sailing.
Our experienced and flexible Captains use their best judgment each afternoon to facilitate the most interesting and memorable Napali Coast boat tours while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our guests. While your Captain guides the way, they’ll narrate the journey, sharing historical facts and local legends, and pointing out interesting geological features and ocean wildlife such as spinner dolphins, Hawaiian green sea turtles, and (seasonally) humpback whales. Meanwhile, our friendly crew members will be by your side on the deck, anticipating and tending to your every need!
As soon as we throw the lines and motor out of the Port Allen Harbor, your attentive crew members will offer you a cold beverage, with or without alcohol. We figure that if you’re going to be sippin’ in the sunshine, you should be sippin’ something enjoyable, so we proudly offer a creative selection of quality domestic and local craft beers, hard seltzers, red, white, and sparkling wines, and our signature Koloa Rum Mai Tai, in addition to water, soft drinks, and juices.
We don’t skimp on drinks, and we don’t skimp on food either. We start off with sliced meats, cheeses, and crackers, along with fresh-cut veggies and homemade dips. For the dinner course, we serve a Hawaiian-inspired meal of teriyaki chicken, kalua pork, stir-fried tofu and veggies, rice, noodle salad, and green salad. Our menu was developed to be flavorful, colorful, simple, and satisfying, and everything down to the dressings are made fresh, with whole ingredients, every single day. To reduce waste, our meals are served on real plates, with real cutlery, and cloth napkins, making Holo Holo Charters the only Kauai boat tour company to be certified as an Ocean Friendly Restaurant by the Surfrider Foundation.
To top it all off, there’s a delectable dessert and a sparkling wine toast at sunset. We mentioned being a little bit pampered right? Cheers!
At Holo Holo Charters, we have the privilege of sharing one of the world’s most incredible coastlines with people from every corner of the world, all year round. With privilege comes responsibility, and that’s why we obsessively maintain our fleet, continuously learn and share authentic stories that honor Hawaii’s culture and history, select food and beverage vendors that practice sustainability, and treat every guest with respect, appreciation, and aloha.

We pride ourselves on creating fun and memorable ocean adventures for our guests. Your safety is our top priority; therefore, all tour routes, destinations, and snorkeling activities are dependent on ocean and weather conditions. If you are joining us during our winter season November – March, tours can be more often impacted by weather. Conditions around Kauai can change quickly, so our expert captains are constantly analyzing and may wait until check-in time to determine the best route for the day. If that occurs you will have the opportunity to go on the altered tour, reschedule to another day (availability permitting), or cancel your tour at no charge if it is weather-related. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 808-335-0815 so we can help create the best experience for you and your family!
